WESTERN SIGILLATA AT EPHESOS - THE HANGHÄUSER Archer Martin This poster presents preliminary results of a study on the western sigillata found in the excavation of Hanghaus 1 and 2. With the exception of one fragment of South Gaulish sigillata, it is all Italian sigillata. Most of it dates to the Augustan and Tiberian period. The identifiable stamps point to Arezzo as the major source. The pattern evidenced here is compared to other major sigillata assemblages in Ephesos itself and elsewhere in the east.
