TERRA SIGILLATA FROM CHÃOS SALGADOS (MIROBRIGA), SANTIAGO DO CACÉM, PORTUGAL

José Carlos Quaresma da Costa

The site of Chãos Salgados, commonly identified with Mirobriga in the classical sources, is located in southwest Portugal and had a lifetime between the 5th/4th centuries BC and the 5th century AD. Studies reported on the Terra Sigillata (Italic, South-Gaulish, Center-Gaulish, Hispanic, African and Late Roman C) have contributed to the explanation of the main economic flows, as well as to Roman urbanization during the first five centuries AD.
