Alchemia degli Estremi--The Alchemy of Extremes--is the title of a conference and series of lectures devoted to the longest, latest, and most complex of the six Italian Dialogues written in Elizabethan London by the southern Italian philosopher Giordano Bruno, who would die at the stake in Rome in 1600 as a condemned heretic. Organized by Eugenio Canone (Il Centro per il Lessico Intellettuale
Europeo) and Ingrid Rowland (American Academy in Rome), the conference
will feature contributions in both Italian and English by Luciano Albanese,
Paul Blum, Angelika Bönker-Vallon, Hilary Gatti, Delfina Giovannozzi,
Armando Maggi, Manuela Ruisi, Leen Spruit, Elisabetta Tarantino, and
Michael Wyatt. American Academy in Rome Overview of the Academy | The Rome Prize Other Residency Opportunities | Music at the Academy Summer Programs | The Library | Fototeca | The Humanities Academy Publications | Academy Events | Alumni Apply for the Rome Prize fellowship | Academy Staff | Home |
