![]() ![]() ![]() READING: Peter Orner and Tobias Wolff Monday 27 January Lecture Room - 6pm Two contemporary American authors will read from their works. Peter Orner, the Joseph Brodsky Fellow in Literature at the American Academy in Rome, will read two short stories, one of which appeared originally in The Atlantic Monthly. He is the author of Esther Stories, which was a finalist for the Pen/Hemingway Award and was named a New York Times Notable Book. Also a lawyer, Orner has taught law as well as writing and is currently on the faculty of San Francisco State University. Tobias Wolff, holder of an Academy Award in Literature from the American
Academy of Arts and Letters, is a winner of the Pen/Faulkner Award and
teaches at Stanford University. He will read a short story and selection
from his most recent novel Old School. Wolff's numerous books include
the memoirs This Boy's Life and In Pharaoh's Army, as well
as his recent and highly acclaimed collection The Night in Question.
