![]() ![]() Berman Collection Eugene Berman (1899-1972) was a painter and designer for the opera, theatre and ballet. He was a Resident at the Academy in 1959. Upon his death he left the American Academy his negatives and prints, both personal (travel albums, portraits etc.) and professional (photographs of his drawing and stage designs). He also donated 1,100 books on art and architecture to the Academy Library.
