Ricerche sulle necropoli preromane di Alife: gli scavi di G.G. Egg
Tuesday 22 November

6pm
Lecture Room

Between 1880 and 1884, Giovan Giacomo Egg carried out the first excavations of the Samnite necropolis of Conca d'Oro, near the town of Alife in the province of Caserta. Gianluca Tagliamonte, Associate Professor of Etruscology and Italic Antiquities at the University of Lecce, will examine the early documentation (published and unpublished) of the site in its historical context (most finds were subsequently dispersed).
The lecture will be in Italian.
