Atlanta Chamber Players

Tuesday 27 June

9pm Concert
Villa Aurelia
L.go di Porta di S. Pancrazio, 1

The Atlanta Chamber Players, presently celebrating their 30th anniversary, have made their mark as one of America’s finest chamber ensembles, at home in the traditional repertoire and particularly zealous in championing contemporary music. This program will feature works by American composers Kenji Bunch, Joan Tower, and Pulitzer Prize winner John Harbison (RAAR’81). Mr. Harbison’s Songs America Loves to Sing was commissioned by the Atlanta Chamber Players and will be receiving its first European performance. Also on the program will be Czech composer Jan Jirasek’s Eccentric Prayer (another work commissioned by the ensemble) and Darius Milhaud’s Suite for clarinet, violin, and piano.
