The Janiculum: Society and Urban Development Around 1900

This exhibition of historic photographs of the Janiculum Hill is a section of Trastevere tra Otto e Novecento. Società e trasformazioni urbane, concurrently showing at the Museo di Roma in Trastevere. Curated by Prof. Carlo Travaglini of the Università degli Studi di Roma Tre in collaboration with the Comune di Roma and other cultural institutions, in particular the American Academy in Rome and its Photographic Archive, the exhibition emphasizes the profound social changes that transformed the Janiculum in the decades spanning the late 19th century and early 20th century. The exhibition is supported in part by the U.S. Department of Education. It is open until 15 March 2008 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 4pm to 7pm.
