This seminar, organized by Alison Frazier, FAAR’98, Associate Professor of History, University of Texas at Austin, will explore four principal topics: the relation between image and text; the saint's role in contemporary religious and political controversies; the propagation of hagiographic cults through both manuscripts and printed sources; and the role of hagiographic manuscripts in the creation of printed authority.
