The 2007-2008 Fellows in Literature, Junot Diaz and Sarah Manguso, will read from their work. Junot Diaz, John Guare Writer’s Fund Rome Prize Fellow, a gift of Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman, teaches creative writing at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has published the short story collection Drown (1996) and the novel The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao (2007), which won the National Book Critics Circle Award. Sarah Manguso, Joseph Brodsky Rome Prize Fellow, a gift of the Drue Heinz Trust/American Academy of Arts and Letters, is the author of four books, most recently the memoir The Two Kinds of Decay (2008) and the story collection Hard to Admit and Harder to Escape (2007). Her writing has appeared in the London Review of Books, the New Republic, the New York Times Magazine, the Paris Review and three volumes of the Best American Poetry series.
