Lecture Room - 4pm The presence of astrology in Renaissance and early modern culture has excited the interest of a growing number of scholars in recent years. Studies dedicated to the work of philosophers, scientists and writers of the era have been enriched by close examination of primary sources, free from the prejudices of the past. A broader and deeper understanding of astrological terms and the history of astrology has provided significant contributions towards better understanding an important stage in the history of ideas. Speakers will include: Giuseppe Bezza, Brian Copenhaver, Germana Ernst, Ornella Pompeo Faracovi, Anthony Grafton, Tullio Gregory and Ingrid Rowland (FAAR'82, RAAR'00). The conference will be in both English and Italian. Please note that the American Academy in Rome requires all visitors attending events to present a legal document of identification.
