Lecture Room - 6pm Joshua Weiner is Assistant Professor of English at the University of Maryland and current American Academy in Rome Fellow in Literature (Joseph Brodsky Rome Prize Fellow, a gift of the Drue Heinz Trust/American Academy of Arts and Letters). Weiner's book of poems, The World's Room, was published by the University of Chicago Press in 2001. In 2002, he received a Whiting Writers Award. Gary Shteyngart is author of The Russian Debutante's Handbook, winner of the Stephen Crane Award for First Fiction and the National Jewish Book Award for Fiction, a New York Times Notable Book and a best book of the year choice of the Washington Post and Entertainment Weekly. Shteyngart's work has appeared in the New Yorker, Granta, GQ, The New York Times Magazine, and many other publications.
