Classical Summer School
Participant Information
Dates: June 16 – July 26, 2008
Eligibility
Enrollment for the Classical Summer School is normally restricted to either Latin teachers or graduate students in Classics; although other especially qualified applicants will receive serious consideration. Insofar as possible, one half of the places will be reserved for teachers of Classics and ancient history in secondary schools. Graduate students and mature undergraduate students majoring in Classics or classical art or archaeology are encouraged to apply. If the number of applicants is exceptionally high, preference will be given to those teachers and graduate students who have an MA degree.
Cost
$4,600 excluding round-trip airfare and personal expenses. Please refer to the scholarships section below for ways to help finance participation in the program.

Scholarships
Awards from the American Academy in Rome, regional and state classical associations and the Classical Society of the American Academy in Rome are
available, as well as awards from the Fulbright Commission*.
Award amounts range from $50 to over $4,800, and there are different deadlines for each scholarship. Applicants for all scholarships MUST ALSO submit a complete and separate Classical Summer School application to the Director.
