National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Seminar
Overview
Virtually every summer since 1977, the Academy has received funding from
the National
Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) to host a seminar for college and
university teachers for four-to-six-weeks, traditionally held from the
end of June to the beginning of August. Based at the Academy's Rome facilities
on the Janiculum hill, fifteen participants work in collaboration with
one or two leading scholars on a given topic in the humanities with the
goal of furthering their teaching and scholarship. In addition to having
access to the Academy's Library and other resources, participants are
also given time to pursue individual research and study projects.
PLEASE NOTE: the National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Seminar will not be offered in 2009
