As part of the Archivissima Festival, which in 2021 will be dedicated to the theme #generazioni, The Night of the Archives is back on Friday, June 4 and, now in its sixth edition, opens up to an unprecedented European perspective.

The event aims to enhance the historical, artistic, cultural, industrial heritage preserved in the historical archives through a participatory story addressed to everyone, to discover and deepen the stories and the preserved assets.

A special opportunity to show that historical archives are not dusty places but guardians of a shared story of collective history, which can be enjoyed in a different way, reconnecting events, lifestyles, historical facts, curiosities, and passions.

The Night of the Archives is the format that in a single evening brings to light a galaxy of places full of unexplored riches, to be enhanced in innovative paths that reread the archival “landscape.”

AAR Photographic Archive

For its contribution to festival, AAR’s Photographic Archive is presenting a video with a selection of forty shots from four photographers of different generations: Esther B. Van Deman, Richard W. Ayers, Georgina Masson, and Jeannette Montgomery Barron.
