The Samuel H. Kress Foundation/AAMD Affiliated Fellowship, established in 2014, provides the time and funding for an art museum director to develop a project or conduct research, either independently or in relation to a museum-sponsored exhibition or commission.

Open to all active AAMD members, the fellowship includes a four-week-long residency at the American Academy in Rome and a stipend.
