Lavinia Ciuffa has been collaborating with the Academy since 1995, starting in the AAR Library. In 2000, when the Photographic Archive was created, she became involved in the project, overseeing its evolution and progress since its inception and becoming its curator in 2014. Ciuffa provides coordination and assistance for all activities related to the development of visual resources with a special focus on the historical collections of the Photographic Archive. She manages the support and maintenance functions: scientific research, image production workflow, conservation plans, original cataloging, digitization, project plans, and reports and grant proposals. Ciuffa holds academic degrees in historical studies from La Sapienza University of Rome, and her background includes specializations in archival and library science obtained at the Vatican Library and Archive School.
