Jennifer Newsom e Tom Carruthers sono architetti, artisti e co-fondatori di Dream The Combine, con sede a Ithaca (New York) e Minneapolis (Minnesota). Biography

Jennifer Newsom and Tom Carruthers are architects, artists, and cofounders of Dream The Combine, based in Ithaca, NY, and Minneapolis, MN. Together, they have produced numerous site-specific installations that explore metaphor, memory, perceptual uncertainties, and the boundary between real and illusory space. Among other awards, Dream The Combine are winners of the 2022–23 Rome Prize in Architecture, the 2022 United States Artists Fellowship in Architecture and Design, the 2021 McKnight Fellowship for Visual Artists, the 2020–21 J. Irwin and Xenia S. Miller Prize, and the 2018 Young Architects Program at MoMA PS1.

Dream The Combine’s work is currently on view at the 2023 Venice Architecture Biennale curated by Lesley Lokko. They have also exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art and MoMA PS1 in New York, MAXXI in Rome, MadArt Studio in Seattle, and in public spaces in East Haddam, CT, Vancouver, BC, Minneapolis and St. Paul, MN, and Columbus, IN. They have been published widely, including features in Wallpaper, Metropolis, MasContext, Architect, Log, Architectural Record, Dezeen, the Journal of Architectural Education, and Reconstructions: Architecture and Blackness in America.

In addition to Dream The Combine, Newsom and Carruthers are faculty members at Cornell University’s College of Architecture, Art, and Planning. They are graduates of the Yale School of Architecture.
