Emily Jacir - Archives, Movement and Translation

Emily Jacir will give a shoptalk on some of the works in her current survey show entitled Europa which focuses on her practice in in Europe, in particular Italy. She will also discuss other projects and address some of the crucial questions which inform her approach to unearthing historic material and in-depth research. Her projects often uncover silenced historical narratives, and investigate movement, transformation, exchange, and resistance through a diverse range of media and strategies, including film, photography, social interventions, installation, performance, writing, and sound.

Jacir is the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Rome Prize Fellow in Visual Arts.
