Playfields
For the Open Studio, I am presenting Playfields, a temporary public space project created at the Triangle Garden of the Chiaraviglio Villa. I have radically mowed the lawn to create a pattern inspired by the “grammar of numbers.” The playground adopts a ground-up, non-hierarchical configuration that invites interaction. The aim is to assert the intentionality of the project while avoiding a deterministic definition of its use, allowing space for improvisation and using existing resources, such as material scraps, to create playful and recreational furnishings.
This temporary project will be accompanied by the publication of a booklet documenting the process and reflections developed during my research at the American Academy in Rome.
SPQRT - Roma Ludica is an editorial project that explores Rome as a ludic city, examining how sport and everyday activities can inspire reflection on complex social dynamics and on the active role of citizens in shaping the city. At the same time, it aims to serve as a source of inspiration for designers and public administrations.
Through interviews, observations, and analysis, the work investigates the mutual relationship between spontaneous and planned creation of urban space. It brings together materials and reflections to offer an open, non-exhaustive perspective that invites ongoing dialogue on the topic.
