American Academy in Rome Appoints John Ochsendorf as 23rd Director

AAR announced today that John Ochsendorf, a preservation engineer, historian, and educator, has been selected as the twenty-third director of the American Academy in Rome. The appointment, which is based in Rome, was announced by AAR president and CEO Mark Robbins, with a term beginning July 1, 2017. Ochsendorf succeeds Kimberly Bowes, who will return to her faculty position as associate professor in the Department of Classical Studies at the University of Pennsylvania after her three-year term.
