Timescapes of Lake Bracciano
Descrizione del progetto

Our proposal explores the various time(s) of Lake Bracciano, from its volcanic origin to its anthropologically influenced water fluctuations. It builds on our work researching and investigating lake-based landscapes through methods that prioritize curiosity, experience, and narrative as the primary drivers of landscape knowledge creation and design. Through these explorations, we will construct a series of visual narratives or “Lake Tales.” Speculative and playful, these narratives will focus on how our understanding and experience of time in all its instances informs how we come to know and describe the landscapes around us. The long and rich history of Lake Bracciano—its shores, waters, and rhythms—will serve as a kind of temporal “archive” that we hope to open to others through the work, with the intention of not providing answers but making time and space for new questions.
