Project title
Structuring Blackness in Rome
Project description

While Blackness in America carries a particular connotation, there is a woeful absence of consideration as to how Roman and Italian architecture may be understood through the lens of nonwhite constructors. This research proposal aims to examine African diasporic contributions and legacies while creating new architectural possibilities that emerge within investigations of Blackness.
