For over a century, the Rome Prize has supported innovative and cross-disciplinary work in the arts and humanities. Each year, the prize is awarded to about thirty artists and scholars who represent the highest standard of excellence.
The deadline for Italian Fellowships passed in February 2023, and all Italian Fellows have been selected for next season. The Academy will reopen the application portal in the fall; please check back for updated information and guidelines.
The Academy hosts recipients of fellowships awarded by educational and cultural organizations around the world, including the Council of American Overseas Research Centers, the Terra Foundation for American Art, and the University of Tennessee.

The American Academy in Rome offers summer programs that are designed to provide qualified participants with a well-founded understanding of the growth and development of the city of Rome through a careful study of material remains and literary sources.
Living and training in Rome for a period of five-and-a-half months, RSFP interns learn alongside an American and Italian kitchen staff to cook for the Academy community.
